At 33 rue Dauphine, 50 rooms, redecorated in 2026 by Bruno Borrione. The 400 m² wellness area has a 20 by 4.5 metre pool, sauna, hammam and a treatment room; the hotel presents the pool as one of the largest in a Paris hotel. Café Laurent is a bar with jazz from Wednesday to Saturday; there is no restaurant. Two Superior rooms are adapted. The card shows the Atout France count of 50 rooms; the hotel's site announces 44 rooms and suites after the 2026 refit.
Here the rule is the strictest of our lists: the hotel must hold the top category of the Atout France register, the national agency that rates French hotels, which was published on 4 October 2026. Three hotels of our Latin Quarter base qualify, and all three are on this page. We did not add four-stars to reach a round number; adding hotels that the register rates lower would misstate the query.
The three are ordered by their distance from Notre-Dame, in a straight line from the forecourt’s coordinates: 190, 620 and 670 metres. Each card shows the date of the classification, from 2021 to 2022. Each hotel’s own website confirmed that it is open. Nobody pays to appear, and we quote no rates; the price band of the top category is estimated at €€€€.
The three differ sharply. The Maison Colbert is the one for the cathedral and the river, with no spa. The Aubusson and the Relais Christine share the Saint-André-des-Arts side of the 6th arrondissement, and both have wellness spaces. The Aubusson has the pool; the Relais Christine has the Guerlain treatment rooms and a private garage.
The 5th arrondissement and the 6th are separated by boulevard Saint-Michel. The Odéon and Saint-Michel Notre-Dame stations are four to five minutes from the Aubusson and the Relais Christine (line 4 is closed at Saint-Michel until 19 December 2026; the RER B and C stay open); the Maison Colbert is three minutes from Maubert-Mutualité.
No restaurant. The Aubusson and the Relais Christine have no restaurant of their own. The Maison Colbert serves meals at the Café Clotilde, with a Saturday and Sunday brunch.
Access. The Maison Colbert and the Aubusson list adapted rooms. The Relais Christine’s own website does not mention accessibility, though the Michelin Guide lists wheelchair access; ask the hotel.
Frequently asked questions
How many 5-star hotels are there in the Latin Quarter?
Three out of the 110 hotels in our base, according to the Atout France register consulted on 4 October 2026: the Maison Colbert in the 5th arrondissement, and the Relais Christine and the Hôtel d'Aubusson in the 6th, on the Saint-André-des-Arts side. Forty-one more hold four stars.
Which Latin Quarter 5-star has a spa or pool?
Two do. The Aubusson has a 20-metre pool, sauna and hammam. The Relais Christine has a Guerlain spa with treatment rooms, sauna and whirlpool baths, but no pool. The Maison Colbert describes neither a spa nor a gym.
Is there a 5-star hotel near Notre-Dame?
Yes, the Maison Colbert, about 190 metres in a straight line from the forecourt, with Maubert-Mutualité (line 10) three minutes away. The Relais Christine and the Aubusson are about 620 and 670 metres away.
Is a 5-star in the Latin Quarter comparable to one on the Right Bank?
The rating follows the same national grid. These three are small, with 39 to 50 rooms. The Maison Colbert belongs to the Meliá Collection, the Aubusson calls itself independent, and the Relais Christine's site lists other Relais & Châteaux houses.
How much is the tourist tax in a 5-star?
€11.70 per adult and per night, regional surcharge included (City of Paris, 1 January 2026), against €8.45 in a four-star. Under-18s are exempt. We quote no room rates.
