Latin Quarter Hotels

A short list, on purpose

The Latin Quarter has far more bars than we can vouch for. We kept six addresses that each have an official website and a trace of activity in 2026, either on the site itself or in a Le Fooding entry dated 2026. Venues whose only trace is a Time Out card from 2011 to 2013, an undated site, or no official site at all are left out. Two of the six are in the 6th arrondissement, around Odéon and Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

Jazz and cabaret around rue de la Huchette

  • Caveau de la Huchette, 5 rue de la Huchette. A jazz and swing club, open since 1946, with concerts every evening. Time Out, in a piece of 13 February 2024, calls it the first jazz club in Paris. The club’s site lists concerts for October, November and December 2026 and a closure for works from Monday 30 November to Monday 14 December inclusive. For the street itself, see rue de la Huchette.
  • Aux Trois Mailletz, 56 rue Galande. A cabaret and piano bar in a cellar the venue dates to the thirteenth century. The official site gives opening every day from 7 p.m. and online booking. The Time Out card is from 2014 and gives the address as no. 58, so the official site is our reference.

Closed: the Petit Journal Saint-Michel. The jazz club at 71 boulevard Saint-Michel went into judicial liquidation in early 2025. The press reported on 4 December 2025 that it had shut abruptly with a buyer announced. A reopening has not been confirmed, and we do not suggest it.

Cocktails and rum

  • Le 1802, 20–22 rue Pascal. The rum bar of the Hôtel Monte Cristo, with more than 1,600 references according to its website, open daily from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., with cocktails from 4 p.m. Time Out rates it €€€ and headlined it, in an article dated 15 September 2026, as the largest rum bar in the world. Time Out and Le Fooding give no. 20, the bar’s site no. 22.
  • Solera, 283 rue Saint-Jacques. A neighbourhood wine and cocktail bar on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève. Le Fooding, updated on 4 August 2026, lists it closed on Sunday and Monday.
  • Prescription Cocktail Club, 23 rue Mazarine (6th). A cocktail bar near Odéon, which its operator’s site calls an icon of the Left Bank.
  • Le Bar des Prés, 25 rue du Dragon (6th). Franco-Japanese cooking and cocktails near Saint-Germain, open every day from noon to 2.30 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., according to its site.

Getting there in 2026

Works change the routes this autumn. With Saint-Michel closed on line 4 until 19 December, walk in from Cluny – La Sorbonne or Maubert-Mutualité, or arrive by RER at Saint-Michel Notre-Dame. Our Latin Quarter map shows the stations relative to the bars, and the main guide to the district is the Latin Quarter.
