The 5th arrondissement has 82 open hotels in our base, too many for one table of fifteen. We divided it into the five areas of our guide, each tied to a landmark: place Saint-Michel, place Maubert, the Panthéon, place de la Contrescarpe and the Jardin des Plantes. For each area we kept the three hotels of the 5th arrondissement nearest to its landmark, so that no single street dominates the list. Distances come from the coordinates of the hotel and of the landmark. The walking estimate multiplies the straight line by 1.3 and rounds to 50 metres.
Stars are those of Atout France, the national agency that classifies hotels, as registered on 4 October 2026, and every hotel was found open on its own website the same day. Hotels on the 6th-arrondissement side of the Latin Quarter, such as the Odéon streets, are covered by our Luxembourg page rather than here.

Arriving. From the airports, the Left Bank flat taxi fares are €65 from Charles-de-Gaulle and €36 from Orly (service-public.fr, 16 January 2026). The RER B also runs from both airports to Saint-Michel Notre-Dame and Luxembourg.
Frequently asked questions
How many hotels are there in the 5th arrondissement?
Our base holds 82 open hotels with 3,062 rooms, checked on 4 October 2026. One has five stars, 30 have four, 41 three, six two and three one star; the last, the Hôtel Cluny-Sorbonne, has no current classification. Which is the quietest part of the 5th arrondissement to sleep in?
Our data does not measure noise, so we do not rank it. It does show where the hotels themselves warn guests. The Hôtel Mont-Blanc calls rue de la Huchette very lively and advises a courtyard room, and the Hôtel des Grandes Écoles describes itself as a quiet house around a garden on rue du Cardinal-Lemoine.
Which metro lines serve the 5th arrondissement?
Line 4 at Saint-Michel Notre-Dame, line 10 at Maubert-Mutualité, Cardinal Lemoine and Cluny-La Sorbonne, line 7 at Place Monge and Les Gobelins, and line 5 at Saint-Marcel. RER B reaches Luxembourg, and RER B and C stop at Saint-Michel Notre-Dame, with direct trains to both airports.
Is there a five-star hotel in the 5th arrondissement?
Only one, the Maison Colbert Meliá Collection on rue de l'Hôtel-Colbert, classified five stars by Atout France on 22 December 2022. Two more five-star hotels in the Latin Quarter stand on the 6th-arrondissement side, near Saint-André-des-Arts.
Can I find a swimming pool or a hammam in the 5th?
Three of the fifteen do. The Madeleine de Senlis has a heated pool for guests, the Orphée a private hammam booked by the hour and free to guests, and the Hôtel des Carmes a hammam and sauna bookable in thirty-minute slots.
