At the corner of La Harpe and La Huchette

The Albe Saint-Michel — listed as Albe Hôtel Saint-Michel on OpenStreetMap — occupies no. 1 rue de la Harpe, where it meets rue de la Huchette, about 100 metres from place Saint-Michel. These are the lanes of La Huchette and Saint-Séverin in the 5th arrondissement, with the Seine a few steps away. In the Atout France register, which records the stars every French hotel is officially awarded, it holds three stars from 14 December 2021, with 43 rooms.

It is run by Alvotel, a Paris group whose hotels include Volney Opéra, Albe Bastille, Élysées Flaubert, the Hôtel des Écrivains, Lenox Montparnasse and XO Hôtel. The operating company is SAS Albe Hôtel Saint-Michel.

Rooms and services

The hotel describes its style as contemporary and chic. Air conditioning is centrally controlled in the rooms. The Deluxe category, 16.5 m², is the one to ask for: the hotel says those rooms have a balcony facing place Saint-Michel and the Seine. Triples, Deluxe rooms and junior suites sleep up to three; there is no option for four.

Because of the building’s architecture, the hotel says it is not accessible to guests with reduced mobility. Small pets are accepted if requested beforehand. There is no restaurant or bar, only a breakfast room on the La Huchette side, and the parking it mentions is a paid public car park nearby.

Place Saint-Michel and the neighbouring hotels

Place Saint-Michel is a minute away, the square in front of Notre-Dame and the Musée de Cluny about four, place Maubert and the Collège de France about seven. Saint-Michel Notre-Dame station puts the RER B and C at the door, but its line 4 stop is closed until 19 December 2026 for works (Paris.fr, checked October 2026); line 10 is four minutes away at Cluny-La Sorbonne, and line 4 can be boarded at Cité, four minutes on foot, if it is open on your dates.

Three three-star hotels sit within two minutes. The Hôtel Europe Saint Séverin is larger (59 rooms) and has an Italian restaurant on the ground floor. The Hôtel du Levant, further up rue de la Harpe, has 46 rooms, takes pets and lists one adapted room, though its lift is small. On the quay, the Hôtel Notre Dame Saint-Michel (26 rooms) says each room was decorated individually by Christian Lacroix, and sells rooms with views of the cathedral. The four-star Hôtel Royal Saint-Michel, a minute away, has family rooms for four or five. Across the boulevard in the 6th, the Hôtel Eugénie is three minutes away, and the budget Hôtel Esmeralda faces Notre-Dame from rue Saint-Julien-le-Pauvre.
