On the square, facing the Panthéon

The Hôtel des Grands Hommes is at 17 place du Panthéon, in the 5th arrondissement, on the square in front of the monument; the Panthéon is about a hundred metres away. The Sorbonne is about 330 metres off and rue Soufflot 220. The nearest station is not close: Luxembourg, on the RER B, is six minutes on foot, and the metro lines, Cardinal Lemoine (line 10) at eight minutes and Maubert-Mutualité (line 10) at nine, are a little further.

Atout France, the state body that awards French hotel stars, classified it three stars on 30 September 2021, for 30 rooms. It belongs to the Paris Rive Gauche hotel group, which also runs the Hôtel Les Dames du Panthéon, the Hôtel Baume and the Hôtel Design Sorbonne, among others.

The rooms

The decoration is early 19th-century Napoleonic, with floral or Greco-Roman wall fabrics and Empire furniture. Three categories look at the Panthéon’s columns, and the Junior Suite Romantique on the top floor has a 15 m² zinc terrace. Air conditioning is in every room, a room for reduced mobility is available on request, the Junior Suites are described as suited to families and pets are accepted at no charge. Room service is offered, and a vaulted room can be hired for up to twelve people. Treatments and massages can be booked, but no wellness space is described, and there is no restaurant.

Against the neighbours

On the same square, the Hôtel Les Dames du Panthéon, a four-star of 35 rooms at no. 19, is the step up and belongs to the same group.
