In the middle of rue Mouffetard

The Apolonia stands at 56 rue Mouffetard, in the 5th arrondissement, in the middle of the street that gives this part of the Latin Quarter its name. Place de la Contrescarpe is about 130 metres up the street. The metro is close: Place Monge (line 7) takes three minutes on foot, Censier-Daubenton (line 7) six, Cardinal Lemoine (line 10) seven.

Atout France, the state body that awards French hotel stars, classified it three stars on 15 March 2022, for 42 rooms. It is part of the Best Western network, according to its booking page, which sends guests to the chain’s site and loyalty scheme, with the reminder that each hotel is run by an independent owner. We could not check which range of the chain it belongs to, so we leave that open.

Rooms, terrace and work space

The hotel says it was designed around a terrace and that its 42 rooms are organised around it; “terrace and garden” also appears in its list of facilities, but the site does not say how guests may use it. The rooms are decorated in light tones on a travel theme, and there is heating and air conditioning. Two rooms are adapted for guests with a disability, with lift access, a walk-in shower and a low washbasin, and have to be arranged with reception.

The Junior Suite is the unusual room: a duplex under the roof for up to three guests, which the hotel presents as the only one of its kind. A free coworking area, called MyWO, sits in the breakfast room. There is no restaurant and no bar, and the site says nothing about pets or parking. A Clef Verte logo is shown in the footer of the website.
