Rue Flatters, at the southern edge of the 5th
The Five occupies no. 3 rue Flatters, a short street near the boulevard de Port-Royal, at the southern edge of the 5th arrondissement. Our guide groups it with the Mouffetard area, although it lies outside the usual street grid of that neighbourhood; the Église Saint-Médard is about six minutes away by our estimate.
Atout France, which awards France’s official one-to-five-star ratings, placed the hotel in the three-star category on 3 May 2022, under the name The Five Hôtel. The website styles it Five Boutique Hotel Paris Quartier Latin, and its footer credits the management to Indevho, the group we list it under.
Twenty-five rooms, two of them out of the ordinary
Twenty-three rooms and two suites make up the house, decorated in what the hotel calls a modernised Parisian style. All are air-conditioned. Two units stand apart from the rest. The Jacuzzi Suite, for two adults and two children, has a private terrace on the courtyard and a jacuzzi kept at 37 °C. “One by the Five” is a 50 m² apartment with two bathrooms in another building on rue Flatters, with its own entrance and access to the hotel’s services.
There is no bar or restaurant. Breakfast is served, and room service can be ordered through an app between noon and 11.30 p.m.; massages are available on request. Couples will find a “Love in Paris” package with champagne and rose petals among the offers. The website does not cover wheelchair access, pets or parking.
Getting around, and the three-stars nearby
The metro is the weak point. Censier-Daubenton and Les Gobelins, both on line 7, are each about 600 to 650 metres away, roughly eight minutes on foot. The Val-de-Grâce is about nine minutes away, the place de la Contrescarpe thirteen, and the Panthéon a quarter of an hour.
The nearest other three-stars are Hôtel Garance, with 21 rooms and three minutes from Les Gobelins, about 450 metres on foot, and Hôtel de France Quartier Latin on rue Monge, about 500 metres. About 650 metres away, Hôtel Maxim Quartier Latin also lists a family suite for four, accepts pets and is a minute from Censier-Daubenton station. A minute away, Hôtel Sunny is a two-star with 36 rooms, and Seven Hotel Paris, a four-star, is about 200 metres away.

Frequently asked questions
Is “Five Boutique Hotel Latin Quarter” the same hotel as The Five?
Yes. The website uses Five Boutique Hotel Paris Quartier Latin, while the Atout France register lists The Five Hôtel, classified three stars on 3 May 2022, at 3 rue Flatters with 25 rooms.
What should a fair review of The Five Hotel point out?
Its two unusual units — a suite with a private heated jacuzzi and a four-person apartment across the street — and, on the debit side, the walk of about eight minutes to the nearest metro and the absence of a bar or restaurant.
Can a family of four stay at The Five?
Yes, in two ways according to the hotel. The Jacuzzi Suite takes two adults and two children, and the One by the Five apartment sleeps up to four with two bathrooms.
Does The Five have a spa?
No. The jacuzzi belongs to one suite and is private to its guests. Massages can be arranged on request.
