A small three-star beside the Odéon

The Delavigne stands at 1 rue Casimir-Delavigne, in the 6th arrondissement, in the short street that joins place de l’Odéon to rue Monsieur-le-Prince. The hotel lies on the fringe of the district, where Saint-Germain meets the Latin Quarter. Atout France, the state body that issues French hotel stars, classified it three stars on 21 December 2021, for 34 rooms.

The hotel is independent. Its site gives no account of the building’s past, so we offer none; what it does give is practical detail.

Rooms and services

All rooms are air-conditioned, working according to the season, and all look on to the street; the hotel’s FAQ says none has a balcony. The categories listed for three guests are the Superior and Deluxe triples. The same FAQ says there are no communicating rooms, which settles the question for parties of four: they need two separate rooms.

For families, the hotel lends a pushchair, a high chair, a bottle warmer and games on request, and can arrange babysitting. Massages and beauty treatments are available on request, with no wellness area. The site lists a bar, but whether it is staffed or a self-service corner in the lounge is not clear, so we do not count it as one. There is no restaurant, only a breakfast room.

The limits: no room adapted for wheelchair users, though one room is equipped for other disabilities; animals refused except guide dogs; no car park, two public ones close by.

Around it

Odéon, with lines 4 and 10, is three minutes away. Cluny-La Sorbonne (line 10) and Saint-Michel Notre-Dame (RER B and C) each take six; the line 4 platforms at Saint-Michel are closed until 19 December 2026 (City of Paris works notice). For other choices nearby, see the hotels around Odéon.

Next door

The Grand Hôtel des Balcons is at no. 3, the same street: two stars, 49 rooms, quadruple rooms and a room marked as accessible, which the Delavigne lacks. The Delavigne is a star higher and has fewer rooms, but turns away animals and has no room for four.
