Rue Dauphine, towards Buci

Hotel Le Régent is at 61 rue Dauphine, on the odd side of the street, near the Buci crossroads, in the 6th arrondissement. We include it in the Odéon block because rue Dauphine is our boundary, but the address is already very Saint-Germain. In plain terms it sits on the border between the Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain, and the walk says so: Odéon (lines 4 and 10) takes three minutes, Mabillon (line 10) four, and Saint-Michel Notre-Dame six; line 4 is closed there until 19 December 2026, leaving RER B and RER C.

Atout France, the state body that awards French hotel stars, classified it three stars on 20 June 2022, for 25 rooms. It is independent. What the hotel stresses is a link with a famous neighbour: its own site says the owner is the same as that of the café Les Deux Magots, and the company register agrees, with one president and one registered office on place Saint-Germain-des-Prés for both companies. The hotel dates its building to the 18th century; no heritage record confirms it, so it stays the hotel’s claim.

Rooms and services

The 25 rooms each have their own fabrics and colours, and the Deluxe rooms add cherrywood furniture and antiques, according to the hotel. Two Standard rooms on the sixth floor have a private terrace of their own, which is not a shared one. Air conditioning and a lift are listed, babysitting can be arranged on request, and pets are allowed. One room is described as accessible to guests with reduced mobility, and one triple room is offered in the superior category, so a family of three has one option.

Breakfast is served in a vaulted stone room in the basement, or in the room. The lounge is listed as a “salon / bar” without further detail, so we do not count on a bar. Parking is not mentioned.

Against the neighbours

Among the three-stars of the Odéon block, three of similar size lie within 400 metres: the Hôtel Left Bank Saint Germain (31 rooms, 100 metres away), the Hôtel Eugénie (28 rooms, 350 metres) and the Hôtel du Lys (23 rooms, 400 metres). Further towards Odéon, the Hôtel Delavigne, with 34 rooms on rue Casimir-Delavigne, is about 500 metres on foot. The Hôtel du Savoir, three stars and 20 rooms on rue Racine, is smaller, at about 600 metres. One star up and on the same street, the Hôtel d’Aubusson is a five-star with a spa. The Hôtel Saint-Paul Rive Gauche, four stars and 31 rooms on rue Monsieur-le-Prince, is the four-star step up, about 600 metres away. Our guide to the hotels around Odéon lays out the block.
