At the Odéon crossroads
The Hôtel Relais Saint-Germain is at 9 carrefour de l’Odéon, on the south side of boulevard Saint-Germain, in the 6th arrondissement. The name says Saint-Germain, and the address is on the 6th-arrondissement fringe: Odéon (lines 4 and 10) is a minute away, Mabillon (line 10) four, Saint-Michel Notre-Dame six, where line 4 is closed until 19 December 2026 and the RER B and C still stop. According to the hotel, the 22 rooms all face the crossroads.
Atout France classified it four stars on 2 February 2022, for 22 rooms. It is independent, with no chain displayed. Its site presents the house alongside a chef, and a bistro bearing the hotel’s name occupies the ground floor; the register does not document the chef’s role, so we say only what the site says. The hotel calls the building a noble house of the late 16th century, taken over in 2004 with its volumes and beams kept. No heritage record backs the date, so it remains the hotel’s claim.
Rooms and services
The theme is literary: each of the 22 rooms is different and carries a writer’s name. Some add a mini-spa, one is a Deluxe Hammam with a hammam shower, styled on the Paris of Simenon’s 1950s, and a sixth-floor suite has a terrace; another has a library. These are private fittings, not shared facilities. The bistro, Le Comptoir du Relais Saint Germain, serves natural wines and takes no reservations; dishes from the menu can be had in the room, and the dining room is kept for guests at breakfast. Hôtel Relais Saint-Germain states that it is not accessible to guests with reduced mobility. Air conditioning, pets, parking and family rooms are not mentioned, so ask before counting on any of them.
Against the neighbours
Close by, the Odéon Hôtel, about 50 m away, is a three-star of 35 rooms with a listed façade, and the Michelet Odéon, about 300 m on foot, a three-star of 42 rooms on the square. Le Régent, about 250 m, is a three-star of 25 rooms on rue Dauphine. The Relais Saint-Germain is the only four-star of these four. Hotels near Odéon lists the other hotels around Odéon.
