At the Cluny crossroads

The Cluny Square is at no. 21 boulevard Saint-Michel, just north of the junction with boulevard Saint-Germain, on the 5th-arrondissement side. Atout France, the agency that awards official hotel stars in France, classified it three stars on 30 July 2026, for 30 rooms; the pages of its website that we read do not display them.

It is independent. The website and the hotel belong to a company of the same name. No chain or group is displayed.

Suites under the roof, balconies below

The two suites set the hotel apart. The Suite Romance, on the top floor, faces the Eiffel Tower, according to the hotel, which presents it as its romantic suite; the Suite Voyage looks over the rooftops. Lower down, some double and twin rooms have a balcony. Every category is air-conditioned. There is no triple or family room: the hotel can add a bed for a child under 12, or a cot.

The building has limits that matter for some travellers. The hotel says no room is fitted for guests with reduced mobility, and the lift starts only at the first floor. Breakfast is taken in a lounge on the first floor; there is no bar and no restaurant. The hotel refers drivers to a public car park nearby, which it does not run. We could not read its pet policy, which is loaded in a format our checks could not open.

Saint-Michel at the door

Transport is the hotel’s strongest card. Saint-Michel Notre-Dame, with line 4 and the RER B and C, and Cluny-La Sorbonne, on line 10, are each about 100 metres away; Odéon, for lines 4 and 10, is four minutes. The Musée de Cluny is two minutes away on foot, the place Saint-Michel three, the parvis of Notre-Dame six.

Several three-star hotels compete within three minutes’ walk. The Hôtel du Levant, on rue de la Harpe, has 46 rooms, family rooms and one adapted room; the Hôtel Europe Saint Séverin, 59 rooms and an Italian restaurant; Hôtel du Lys, on rue Serpente, 23 rooms. Among the twelve other three-star hotels within about 250 metres, only Le Clos Notre Dame also lists no family room; its distinguishing features are the station on its doorstep and the two suites under the roof.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Hôtel Cluny Square have a view of the Eiffel Tower?

One suite does. The hotel says its Suite Romance, on the top floor, looks towards the Eiffel Tower; it appears to be a single suite, so the view is not a feature of the other rooms.

Is the Hôtel Cluny Square suitable for wheelchair users?

No. The hotel states that none of its rooms is adapted for people with reduced mobility, and the lift serves the building only from the first floor up.

Can a family of four stay at the Hôtel Cluny Square?

Not in one room. No triple or family category is listed; the hotel offers an extra bed for a child under 12 and a baby cot. The Hôtel du Levant, two minutes away, has quadruple rooms.

What should one take from the Hotel Cluny Square's facts?

We publish no score and no guest opinions. The record shows three metro and RER lines a minute away, air conditioning, balconies and a suite with an Eiffel Tower view; it also shows no adapted room, no family room and no bar or restaurant.
