Latin Quarter Hotels
The Saint-Michel fountain, a minute from rue Danton; it shows the area, not the Dame des Arts

A design hotel beside Place Saint-Michel

The Dame des Arts is at 4 rue Danton, in the 6th arrondissement, about 100 metres from Place Saint-Michel on its western side. Atout France, the state body that issues French hotel stars, classified it four stars on 6 July 2023, for 109 rooms. The hotel presents itself as a member of the Lifestyle Preferred Hotels & Resorts collection. Saint-Michel Notre-Dame is a minute away, but only for the RER B and C: its line 4 stop is closed until 19 December 2026 for works (Paris.fr, checked October 2026). Odéon (lines 4 and 10) is three minutes away, and Cluny–La Sorbonne (line 10) four. It is a hotel on the edge of the Latin Quarter, and the guide to hotels near Saint-Michel is as relevant to it as the one for Odéon.

The interiors are by Raphaël Navot: carved wood or fresco ceilings, fluted oak walls and art in each room. The MICHELIN Guide adds that Navot converted a theatre from the 1950s; the hotel does not say so, so take it as the Guide’s.

Rooms, table and roof

Pimpan, the restaurant, serves breakfast, weekday lunch, dinner and a weekend brunch, with a cocktail bar and a garden in the inner courtyard. A bar on the ninth floor is open to guests and the public. A fitness studio runs round the clock and the sauna opens from 10:00 to 21:00.

Several categories have a private terrace, and three look to the Eiffel Tower. Communicating Classic rooms sleep four, and dogs are welcome for a daily fee. The Signature category is marked “access for reduced mobility on request”, with no adapted room described. The hotel’s own site does not mention air conditioning, which the MICHELIN Guide lists; ask if it matters.

Among its neighbours

The nearest comparison in size is the Hôtel Trianon Rive Gauche, four stars and 110 rooms on rue de Vaugirard, with air conditioning and pets allowed but no restaurant. The Hôtel Saint-André des Arts, also four stars, has 30 rooms, a retro bar and room service. Of the three, the Dame des Arts is the only one with a restaurant and a rooftop bar.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Dame des Arts in the Latin Quarter or in Saint-Germain?

At 4 rue Danton, in the 6th arrondissement, on the western side of Place Saint-Michel. It is on the border: Saint-Michel Notre-Dame is a minute on foot and Odéon three, so it works as a Latin Quarter base too.

Does the Dame des Arts have a restaurant and a bar?

Both. Pimpan serves breakfast, weekday lunch, dinner and a weekend brunch, with a cocktail bar and a garden in the courtyard. The ninth-floor rooftop bar is open to guests and the public.

Does the Dame des Arts have a spa?

A sauna and a 24-hour fitness studio, but no treatments mentioned, so we call it a gym and sauna, not a spa.

Are there rooms with an Eiffel Tower view?

The Signature Terrace Eiffel, Signature Premium Terrace Eiffel and Junior Suite Terrace Eiffel categories are advertised with that view, per the hotel.

What does a Dame des Arts review come down to?

On checked facts: the design, the restaurant, the roof and the location weigh for it; the size, the silence of the site on air conditioning and the vague accessibility terms weigh against it.
