Opposite Port-Royal station
The Beauvoir is at 43 avenue Georges-Bernanos, in the 5th arrondissement, almost opposite the Port-Royal RER B station, which is about fifty metres away. That is the address’s main asset: the hotel says the line runs directly to the Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. Raspail (lines 4 and 6) is eight minutes away on foot. We list the hotel with the Sorbonne and Panthéon block by default, but it sits outside our central grid, about 950 metres from the Panthéon and about 760 from the Luxembourg garden.
Atout France, the state body that awards French hotel stars, classified it three stars on 17 April 2025, for 29 rooms. It is independent and has its own loyalty scheme, called Signature Beauvoir.
Fans, balconies and a top-floor suite
The hotel’s own pages are explicit about what it lacks. There is no air conditioning, a choice it presents as faithful to the charm of the building, and each room has a fan. Pets are not allowed, and the hotel says its structure is not suited to guests with reduced mobility. There is no bar and no restaurant; a buffet breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., with a lounge corner, and parking is not mentioned.
The rooms are small, from 8 m² for a Standard Single to 16 m² for the suite. The Superior Single on the fifth floor has a private balcony, as do some doubles. The only suite is named after Hemingway: on the top floor, for three people, with what the hotel calls an unobstructed view over Paris. There is no triple or quadruple room, so a family has one choice, the suite. The hotel’s literary tone comes from the Closerie des Lilas, which it says stands opposite and which it links to Baudelaire, Verlaine, Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Hemingway and Henry Miller.
Against the neighbours
On the Luxembourg side, the Hôtel Les Jardins du Luxembourg, a four-star of 19 rooms, and the Hôtel Observatoire Luxembourg, a four-star of 41, are the step up in category. The Hôtel des Mines, a three-star of 49 rooms on boulevard Saint-Michel, has a bar and air conditioning. Two two-stars, the Hôtel Pierre Nicole nearby and the Hôtel du Brésil about 800 metres away, are the lower category. Our list of hotels around the Panthéon lays the block out, and the Luxembourg Gardens guide covers the walk.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Hôtel Beauvoir have air conditioning?
No. The hotel makes a point of it, saying the choice stays true to the charm of its building, and puts a fan in each room.

What does a Hotel Beauvoir review come down to?
No score, no guest quote: the page rests on checked facts alone. Among them, the RER station at the door, the balconies and the top-floor suite count for it; the missing air conditioning, the lack of step-free access and the distance from the Panthéon count against it.
