We took every hotel of our Latin Quarter base that carries the boutique label in our data and stands within 520 metres of the Luxembourg Gardens, measured from a point inside the gardens: twelve. The label means a hotel of about 40 rooms or fewer that sets out its own decor, theme or designer on its website; we assign it from what each site states, and it is not an official rating. The list runs from the nearest to the farthest.
Stars come from Atout France, the national tourism agency, as published on 4 October 2026, and each card carries the date of the decision. We checked that every hotel was open. Nobody pays to be here and we quote no rates; the price bands, €€ for three stars and €€€ for four, are estimated.
Where the hotels are
The hotels fall into two groups, on either side of the Palais du Luxembourg and its gardens. Five stand on the 6th-arrondissement side: the Clos Médicis and Saint-Paul in rue Monsieur-le-Prince, the Fontaines du Luxembourg in rue de Vaugirard, the Relais Médicis in rue Racine and Baume in rue Casimir-Delavigne. Seven stand on the 5th-arrondissement side: Les Jardins du Luxembourg, Salvia, Design Sorbonne, Madeleine de Senlis, Le Petit Paris, and Observatoire Luxembourg and Le Lapin Blanc on boulevard Saint-Michel.
Works. The Lapin Blanc had its breakfast room closed. Ask for the state of the common areas.
Access. Of the twelve, the Fontaines, Relais Médicis, Observatoire, Jardins du Luxembourg and Petit Paris describe an adapted room; the Lapin Blanc calls three rooms adapted but says the building is not accessible to wheelchairs.
Frequently asked questions
What counts as a boutique hotel in this list?
A small hotel that states a clear design or theme of its own. In our data, all twelve have 41 rooms or fewer and name a decorator, a theme or an identity on their sites. Atout France does not classify 'boutique' hotels, so the word is ours.
Which boutique hotel is nearest to the Luxembourg Gardens?
The Clos Médicis, at about 350 metres from a point in the gardens, followed by Les Jardins du Luxembourg and the Fontaines du Luxembourg. The Observatoire Luxembourg faces the garden, at 107 boulevard Saint-Michel.
Is there a boutique hotel with a pool?
One in this list, the Madeleine de Senlis, with a heated indoor pool. For other hotels with a pool, see our list of [4-star hotels in the Latin Quarter](/4-star-hotels-latin-quarter-paris/).
Which of these hotels accept families?
Eleven of the twelve list family or connecting rooms in our data; only the Clos Médicis does not (its family room page was unavailable). The largest groups: Observatoire Luxembourg (a Signature room for up to six), Saint-Paul (rooms for two to six), Le Lapin Blanc (up to five) and the Jardins du Luxembourg (an apartment for five). Relais Médicis, Fontaines du Luxembourg and Design Sorbonne take four.
How far is it from these hotels to the metro?
In our data, between one and six minutes from the nearest station. Luxembourg (RER B) is the nearest station for the Clos Médicis and most of the 5th-arrondissement hotels; Odéon (lines 4 and 10) is the nearest for the Fontaines, Relais Médicis, Saint-Paul and Baume.
